Kinderkrankenhaus I

Berliini yli kaksi vuotta sitten. Jotenkin nämä urbex-kuvat jäivät aiemmin julkaisematta, mutta syksyisiin päiviin karut, hylätyt tilat sopivat paremmin kuin koskaan. Siis siitä huolimatta, että kuvien ottamisen hetkellä Berliinissä vallitsi mieletön helle.

Kinderkrankenhaus Weissensee (tai The Säuglings- und Kinderkrankenhaus Preussens) on vanha lastensairaala, joka aloitti toimintansa vuonna 1911 ja suljettiin 1990-luvun lopulla. Sen jälkeen rakennus on päässyt hurjaan kuntoon - graffiteja ja epämääräisiä spreijauksia on kaikkialla, tuhopolttoa on yritetty lukemattomia kertoja ja askeliaan saa toden teolla varoa, jollei halua tipahtaa lahonneen välipohjan läpi pari kerrosta alaspäin. Oman aikansa loisteliaimpiin kuuluneesta sairaalasta on jäljellä vain haalistunut muisto.

Berlin, over two years ago. Somehow all these urbex photos were left unreleased, but what could fit the chilly autumn days more than pictures of abandoned places? Even still the weather at the time when the pics were taken was boiling hot.

Kinderkrankenhaus Weissensee (or Säuglings- und Kinderkrankenhaus Preussens) is an old children's hospital, inaugurated in 1911 and left by itself in the late 1990s. Since then the building has not been taken care of, but just left to decay. Every wall is full of graffiti, arsons have been started for numerous times and one must check where to land their foot - in case you don't want to fall down a couple of stories. The structure, which back in the day belonged to the most glorious hospitals there was, is now just a faded memory.
